One of the core distinctions between herbal medicine and aromatherapy is that one won’t hear the question “what brand of plants do you use?” This allows for a completely different relationship to plants and the organic materials one uses for healing. It is all about the plant material not the brand.
We need to teach or share an essential oil in a brand-less bottle or smell strip. Because I believe there is a need to develop a deeper relationship with the individual essential oil we are smelling and experiencing than merely with the identification or biases that come with brand identification. Because an essential oil is not a brand, it is hopefully a plant derived aromatic medicinal substance.
