Handcrafted in Israel Organic Maceration Essential oil of Honeysuckle is made with pure organic wild-harvested blossom infused in Israeli Coconut Oil and Israeli Sunflower Seed Oil.
You can use a few drops of this oil in the bath, a few drops to flavor chocolates and candies or dessert recipes (Yup it is that organic), use it as perfume alone, and create DIY Lipbalms, creams, lotions, and solid perfumes. Use with other essential oils to create your favorite essential oil blend.
We have mastered our own enfleurage/maceration techniques to capture the delicate, elusive aroma of rare flowers which do not respond well to the steam distillation extraction process because they produce very little essential oil, turn to mush with the fragile floral scent gets destroyed in the process and many times some flowers will only produce a hydrosol and tiny amounts of essential oil.
Honeysuckle Essential Oil comes as an infusion maceration of organic wild-harvested blossoms macerated is long-lasting in smell. The aroma of this oil is a sharp powdery aroma with green sweet floral notes. True honeysuckle is a heady aroma. This oil is of very high quality that blends very well with Sandalwood oil and Ylang Ylang and citrus essential oils. Extracted from flowers.
The sweet and strong scent of Honeysuckle, carried on a warm summer night breeze, is one of the most delightful experiences of the late spring/ early Summer and early Fall Season. Strongest at night in order to attract pollinating moths, this scent is a happy addition to any garden. Our honeysuckles begin blooming in late spring and end in early Fall.
Honeysuckle is a climbing plant, common in hedgerows, scrub, and woodlands where it twines itself around other shrubs and trees. Whorls of trumpet-shaped flowers appear from May, June to early September, and clusters of red berries ripen in the autumn.
How its made:
The blossoms are gathered near Mt. Hermon at twilight and quickly put into the sun-warmed oil (no other heat is used) to capture the lovely honeysuckle aroma. Flower petals are harvested by hand, one at a time, when they begin to bloom. The blooming season is the time we make one big batch and repeat replacing the flowers. You will not believe the concentration of the oil.
This process of replacing flowers is repeated seven or more (7-10+) times until we achieve the light sharp powdery sweet green and floral notes of the honeysuckle aroma we are looking for. We then let it sit in a cool place for a few more weeks to capture all of the large essential oil molecules to bring a creamy sweet slightly green powdery finish.
