AYTZ CHAYIM macerations/ infused oils are made from plants growing in our Garden or from Organic Raw Material shipped from around the world. These oils are created in a ancient method by Maceration/Infusion technique and has been proven to be a very precise technique. According to Patricia Davis, in Aromatherapy: An A-Z, maceration of plants pre-dates the process of extracting essential oils this is called infusion. Ancient civilizations such as Israelites simply stood jars of plant material out in the sun to macerate. Infused, or macerated, oils hold similar medicinal properties to those extracted to produce an essential oil; however, some plants can be macerated that do not produce an essential oil too.

Modern Maceration extraction method

With the maceration extraction method, the flowers are soaked in hot oil to have their cell membranes ruptured and the hot oil then absorbs the essence. The oil is then cleared of the botanical. We do not use the modern method. We use the sun to heat the oil and what we find is the oil is stronger and last longer as well when using the more ancient process. A skilled person can really bring out the essence more thoroughly using the ancient techniques.

Some material have to sit up to 50 days such as Frankincense or Myrrh which are resin. Some a very short sitting like Roses, or Jasmine. A highly skilled person can bring out the very best infused oils and the healing properties are equal to distilled essential oil but come with a carrier oil. We also include Frankincense Resin from Oman and Sweet Myrrh from Jordon and Somalia that we purchase from private Organic resources. We use Fractionated Coconut Oil or some cases we can use also Jojoba as the solvent to absorb all the fat soluble properties of the plants and resins.

Macerations are essential oils but more, as they have all the fat soluble parts of the plant and resins that are too large to be distilled into Essential oil compounds. The scent is not always as strong as the essential oil but the essential oil properties are still there, Very powerful compound that heals and works the same.
