These Hydrosols are made from my personal garden bushes and trees that are pesticide and herbicide-free. Our enormous, old gardenia bushes which have somewhere over 2000 blossoms and sometimes with a few hundred blossoms will open up all at once on any given day. So we choose to distill these precious flowers into a hydrosol that can be enjoyed all year round. It is costly and very time-consuming but so worth the effort.
These beautiful flowers are so rich, full-bodied buttery, spicy, and creamy in one sniff you just want to eat them like cake. Their aroma is forever engrained in the memories of people living throughout the southern part of the United States. Gardenia flower is a key flower that blooms for a short period just before the hot summer arrives. Then fall in these beauties return for another short period before the cold of winter sets in.
