All of our Senses were greatly diminished when we were expelled from the Garden of Eden, EXCEPT the Sense of Smell. Thus Fragrance still has the power today to bring one back through a vast span of time, even past lifetimes, and trigger vivid memories which also can bring us back to the Garden of Eden.
The first mention and headquarters of Fragrance in the Torah occurs in the tale of Noah. After the Flood, he came out from the Ark and made fragrant Sacrifices. But it was the Heavenly Fragrance of the Aromatic Garments from the Garden of Eden that Noah was wearing, that caused God to make a Rainbow above and declare, “Never again will I curse the soil because of Man!”
