The Torah has logic and purpose and if G-d forbid, the Torah appears to some as a “closed book” then it may be difficult for them to perform the mitzvot and they may reject them because of it. When Torah cannot be understood then mitzvot cannot be performed properly, understood properly, and know the full purpose of these mitzvot. Understanding is key to knowing what G-d expects from us. So how do we open the Torah and perform mitzvots properly?

Let’s look at the sukkot Lulav to understand.

The esrog, has both a pleasant taste and a pleasant aroma. This fruit represents righteous G-d’s People who have the aroma of Torah and the taste of good deeds. The palm tree, on which the lulav grows, has pleasant taste but no aroma. This symbolizes the average person who has the pleasant taste of doing mitzvos but does not necessarily possess the aroma of Torah scholarship which means they lack in understanding the mitzvots they perform.

The hadas [myrtle], with aroma but no taste, symbolizes people who have Torah scholarship but do not possess the pleasant taste of having done good deeds. Their knowledge still lacks understanding. The arava [willow], with neither taste nor flavor, symbolizes the Amei Ha’Aretz (people are completely lacking) who have neither the aroma of Torah nor the taste of good deeds.

This is why we bind all four species together to symbolizeUnity because G-d is not pleased with His People until they bind themselves together as one unit. Together they are complete. So one must study Torah for those who cannot so that we can be the walking example of Torah and perform the mitzvot when others lack understanding to do so.

When one walks into a room and a aroma that fills the whole is making Challah bread for Shabbos, one does not need to taste the bread to know what’s baking. You will knows what’s baking because you can smells the Challah Bread. When there is aroma, one does not need taste to understand what is there. Torah is Aroma the smell. We must inhale Torah!

This is the quality that Moshiach will have when he comes to judge us on our merits, our life we lived, of the study of His Torah, and performing His Commands. Moshiach will smell it all. This is what we must be able to do by reading Torah we can smell it’s commandments and the aroma compels us to perform the mitzvos without question and lack of desire or understanding. To do so is to live a good life and taking care of one another.

Healing will come with learning G-d’s word, opening the book and have understanding. These Torah blends were made to help trigger the distant memory of ancient powerful strength within to make changes and take in the words of G-d that is needed to heal within to live a good life filled with blessings and joy. Enter a new phase of life knowing G-d is with us all to protect us and heal us as a people and nation. Performing the mitzvot activate the mind, heart, and soul to heal oneself develop the deepest complete faith in our Divine Creator.
