Aroma is strong deep green spicy camphoraceous.
Other known names: Kapoor Kachari, Spiked Ginger Lily, Kapur Kachli, and Kapur Kachri.
Used by Ancient Hebrews for symptoms such as nausea, headaches, respiratory, menstrual cramps, and muscle pain.
Aromatherapy: used mainly in perfumery. Some research says it may be helpful with depression, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal.
Native to the Himalayas, and parts of the Middle East the white ginger lily is also known as butterfly lily, as it attracts many butterflies. It was used in ancient days by the Dai, Greeks, and Hebrew people for many symptoms such as headaches, colds, arthritis, and injuries. The fruit of this species may be cooked and eaten with lentils in savory dishes. Crushed rhizomes, both fresh and dried, are very aromatic with a fragrant, somewhat pungent smell similar to orris root but more powerful. In Manipur, the rhizome is cooked to prepare mush paste.

History: Traditionally, extraction of the root is used in ayurvedic medicine as an anti-nausea agent. Research indicates that the oil has a slightly tranquilizing action, as well.
Cautions: Generally non-toxic and non-sensitizing. Use well diluted. Avoid use during pregnancy.
