Amyris is from imported Aged Heartwood from the Haiti region that does grow wild all over tropical climates including parts of the world including the Mideast and Israel. Haiti has some of the best Amyris in the world so this oil’s material is from Haiti and we raise the vitality higher by distilling the wood in the Holy Land of Israel. Once this batch is gone we will not do this again.
The cost has been going up because its buttery sandalwood aroma is a treasure to behold for the perfumery world and for artisan attar makers. In the Aromatherapy world, it is used as an alternative to using in place of Sandalwood for its relaxing benefits in some blends and it is so beneficial in holistic supplemental care and aromatherapy treatments.
Beneficial Use:
Aromatherapy, Natural Perfumery, calming, warm, and for skincare aging serums, soothing dry skin, relaxing, peace of mind, blocks negative thinking, subsides fears and anxiety, opens the heart, and bring clarity, focus, and serenity to the mind.
This oil is processed from dried wood collected from the field by well-trained farmers. This process is carefully monitored to ensure only the right quality of raw material is collected. The wood is chipped and grounded then steam-distilled using only purified water in Israel.
The resulting essential oil is a wonderful soft aroma that can only be described as lovely sweet sandalwood. Amyris essential oil has a very tenacious, rich, complex odor that quickly fades out to a soft woody-balsamic aroma; it is valued as a well-known fixative, especially in soaps, and finds extensive application as a mild blend in numerous types of natural perfumes.
Although often referred to as West Indian Sandalwood, due to its similar aroma, Amyris is not related botanically and certainly not so many chemical compounds wise either and therefore is not a substitute for Sandalwood completely, nor does it provide the same depth and character scent-wise as true Sandalwood Mysore from Eastern India but would compete with Australian, Hawaiian, and Caledonian varieties. I would also say if you love Sandalwood you will love this oil! Amyris essential oil offers a sweet-woody, balsamic aroma, it is practical, so it can be a less expensive alternative to Sandalwood essential oil in your favorite blend.
Blends Well With Cedarwood, Frankincense, Citronella, Geranium, Lavender, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, lavender, and Ylang Ylang.
Blending Suggestions: Dilute and add drop by drop to your blends until the desired effect is achieved.
