Wowzer what can I say? This oil is very rare and so amazing and is from an Artisan Distiller Kuren JoyBird in Canada who is a Native Indigenous Herbalist. She has been distilling and handcrafting many medicinal plants however, this one is a rare find. It’s like smelling lavage, but ten times stronger. This oil is sustainably grown Ligusticum porteri is known as Sacred Wild Bear Porter’s Lovage, Prter’s Licorice root, ligusticum, and Oshá Bear Medicine.
We were only able to get a small amount of this oil because much of the Native Community uses this oil for cold and flu season. Considered very sacred in indigenous communities. Kuren JoyBird has always been happy to let me purchase a small amount for the last 10 years.
Interesting to note this community has not been impacted by the current pandemic and many Natives do claim it is because of the blessing of Osha Bear Medicine plant. I cannot say for sure if this is true, but what I can say is for centuries, Oshá was used by North American indigenous groups in a variety of ways, including ceremonial uses, incense, food, and medicine. Oshá is often used to quiet a cough and clear lungs of heavy congestion. It would not hurt to have this treasure in your herbal medicine cabinet.
