Fenugreek has been used since ancient times for health purposes and has been part of traditional remedies for millennia. Fenugreek dates back to somewhere around 4000 BC found in Ancient Iraq and Iran, was used by the ancient Egyptians and Hebrews for medicine and food, used in ancient Rome as feed for cattle and to flavor wines. Much of Fenugreek seeds were grown exclusively as a food source in the 1st century, in the area of the upper Galilee and Northern Israel.
Today it is still grown in Galilee and is used in much of Israeli cuisine and drinks. A popular Egyptian and Jordanian drink called hilba is a blend of fenugreek seeds, with other spices and sweet water. Tis essential oil/CO2 is very hard to find on the market especially coming the middle other than from India. The Aroma is warm, with soft spicy-nutty-earthy undertones and maple syrup, powdery licorice-like sweetness; the soft, sweet-spicy, nutty notes are very tenacious.

Benefits of Fenugeek is often used for blood sugar,blood pressure and heart balance. The raw seeds were used in many traditional food and drink as well as medicines.
