Catnip is a member of the mint family and grows in the wild as a weed. Catnip Essential Oil is a stimulant herb for felines but has a sedative effect on humans. It is commonly used as an insect repellent.
The highest quality catnip contains approximately 80% nepetalactone which is the active natural constituent famous for its uses against mosquitos, ticks, and other insects.
PLEASE Do not use Catnip Essential Oil with cats please use only fresh herbs instead!
Fun Fact: Cats are so loved and cared for in Israel that many Israelis grow catnip in their gardens just for their feline friends.
