Green sweet, leafy, hay-like notes with a hint of the sweet date fruit, light peppery soft tobacco aroma with spice, white raisin note. We are the only producers of this absolute essential oil.

In the Middle East, this shrub grows everywhere in Israel and the Middle Eastern regions and is called Sidr and is most is commonly found in the Jordan Valley and all around Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria, as well as in the Hajar Mountains of the United Arab Emirates. In Israel, the fruit is collected to create many skincare products, but is also enjoyed in the local Israeli cuisine using the red or white date fruits of the tree.

The most special of all the trees is in Ein Hatzeva has taken great pride in preserving a remarkable Sidr Jujube tree that is 2000 years old, which stands over 11 meters tall and is regarded as one of the largest jujube trees in the world.

Found in the southern desert of Israel, the kibbutz of Ein Hatzeva, home to the remarkable treasured tree that has captivated visitors for centuries. In Celebration of the tree’s significance, the village hosts an annual jujube festival, where visitors from all over come to taste the sweet fruit and the savory foods from its leaves, learn about its historical importance

In the Arabic-speaking world, the jujube and alternatively the species Z. lotus are closely related to the lote-trees (sing. “sidrah”, pl. “sidr”), while in Israel, it is rather both the species the Judean Z. jujuba and Z. spina-christi that are called sidr.

The process of creating this exclusive absolute is by leaves coming from Ein Hatzeva region and several areas in the Judean hills where these trees grow. This is a hexane-free natural ethonolic process where plant material of leaves, stems, and seeds to soaked for 10 days, then recharge the leaves are recharged every 10 days for 3 months until the liquid is a deep green that looks black in color.

After straining the last time of soaking, it is then placed in a high-pressure vacuum crucible chamber machine. Hours later, you have a stunning absolute oil. Batches are small and oh-so-wonderful. This is a marvelous extraction process to behold.
