Color is generally Light to medium brown almost black in color, slightly thick viscosity, but will come out of the orifice reducer slowly. Deeply smoky smell, like ancient campfires.
Consistency Medium-Thick
Blends well with Thyme, Marjoram (Origanum), Clove, Cassia, Tea Tree, Pine, and many herbal oils.
Prickly Juniper also known as Cade is traditionally used for its properties to expel worms, parasites, relieve itching, disinfect, and as a pain reliever. Used to relieve skin/scalp parasites/fungi, diarrhea, peptic ulcers, diabetes, high blood pressure, psoriasis, and pneumonia. Cade, also known by several other common names including Juniper Tar and Prickly Juniper, is a variety of juniper that is native to regions of the Mediterranean.
In many parts of the Middle East and Africa, its use is ancestral to protect people from epidemics or pandemics of disease. Also according to popular belief, the distillers of this oil would be “invincible”. By fumigation, it was used to purify the atmosphere and ward off sicknesses such as flu and also insects. In Africa, many farmers would burn the wood to ward off swarms of incoming locusts that can devour crops.
Rectification is a process used to remove minor components not desired in essential oil. When an essential oil contains any undesired components, it can be removed by re-distillation – either in steam or in a vacuum, and this purification by re-distillation is referred to as rectification.
The aroma is leather smokey notes with deep intense aged burning wood aroma with just an ever so slight green note. Those that are fond of the aroma of Vetiver Essential Oil may also favor the aroma of this Essential Oil. It acts as a base note and can act as a fixative in perfume blends. Emotionally, Prickly Juniper Oil is grounding and can promote a sense of calm. Good for warding off/releasing negative energies, when used with clear prayer intention.

Caution: Cade oil may produce skin irritations if used in high concentrations. Use in tiny amounts in moderation. Avoid use if pregnant or breastfeeding.
