Pemou Siam Sandalwood essential oil has a high content of the sesquiterpenes nerolidol (also found in Neroli essential oil) and fokienol. These compounds are in a class of chemicals that act as a natural defense and boost the immune system when used in a diffuser with other oils such as Frankincense, cinnamon, orange, and clove essential oils, and these compounds also express the antiseptic and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Pemou essential oil is also used in aromatherapy as a sedative when used as a massage oil to calm nerves and help a person to feel confident and strong in decision-making, as well as help people who feel isolated and alone to feel empowered.
This wildcrafted oil exudes a sensuous, warm, creamy, buttery, sweet, soft balsamic aroma, some find similar to Sandalwood but with nuances of Rosewood and faint Cypress back notes in long dry down. Approx Shelf Life is the older it gets, the better it gets.
Most of the Pemou Siam essential oil on the market is very green and not aged out, which makes it a bit challenging to use. So we like selling this Siam Sandalwood when the fresh distillation green notes have been aged out completely for at least five to ten years to bring out a more concentrated, deeper buttery notes and aroma. Like many other sandalwood woody type essential oils, Siam Sandalwood improves with age and is extremely rare to find, so it is definitely worth the waiting time!
In natural perfumery, Pemou essential oil is used as a base note and fixative, but again, it is aged before use. It harmonizes and blends into a cohesive and complementary aromatic bouquet when added to floral and wood oils. Excellent to use as a substation for Sandalwood. It is used to create Asian blends, lovely natural incense perfume blends, forest blends, precious woods perfumes like sandalwood and citrus synergy, and sweet cedar and pine oils.
Frankly, this is a really wonderful oil to work with. I love the complexity of its aroma and the depth it brings to blends. All I can say is WOW, I enjoy this one very much!
