During the process of creating absolutes oil of these delicate Mimosa lowers the natural solid wax from the plant is left behind. This is called floral wax. It retains a milder aroma than is found in the absolute, but its creamy texture which makes it a desirable ingredient in its own right.
Waxes are easy and very forgiving to use as well as very cost effective in the exploration stage of production and waxes can add body and even texture to a composition or formula where needed.
Floral waxes can be incorporated into creams, lotions, balms, and solid perfumes. The floral wax is a by product of Absolute or CO2 process and the aroma is not as strong as the oil produced. Floral waxes aroma bloom even more when warmed. While floral waxes tend to be quite hard and may take longer to melt, the effort invested can be very rewarding.
