Like the lotus, we all go through challenges, periods of waiting, and moments that stretch our faith. But we can find comfort in G-d’s promise of renewal and transformation. Staying connected to Him gives us the strength to face hardships and bloom beautifully in His light.
Lotus flowers grow in water that is filled with dirt and mud. Not only do lotus grow in dirty water, but they also can clean toxins out of the water around them. When lotus flower arises from the merky waters below as a clean flawless beautiful flower in all it’s glory.
Lotus symbolizes rebirth, renewal and resurrection and it is interesting to note the lotus is said to represent the womb, and its essence will help with fertility. The Sages say that Moses was discovered floating in the Nile River, surrounded by blue lotus flowers and giant leaves that sheltered him and shaded him from the scorching midday sun.
The Lotus, a symbol of the Mikvah, reflects the feeling of emerging from the ritual pool of water that ritually cleanses the body and soul. One stands in splendor, flawless once again, ready to meet with G-d in His presence. When we appreciated the beauty of how lotus flower emerges from dirty water with clean, beautiful, and pure blossoms, we cannot help but think of ultimate spiritual message of G-d’s mercy and blessings even when sin was present.
In Asia and parts of the Middle East, where the lotus is the flower of that region, it is not unusual to see a displays or find carvings of lotus flowers and leaves in places of worship like churches, synagogues and mosques. In Israel and Egypt, the lotus grows natively. Lotus leaf was often made into ink for writing by ancient Middle Eastern and Asian Orient cultures. Leaves are sometimes harvested and dried for tea for that calming relaxing effects and stress relief.
We have a very small amount from each of the batches we produce. You will be amazed by the lovely green leafy sweetness all just from the leaves. Perfect for adding color and a sweet green leafy not to perfume formulas.
