Orange wax is derived from the peel of oranges and gives a sweet juicy aroma. The Color and Aroma Description is a soft, waxy substance that resembles honey in color and has a faint orange fruit odor. Its color ranges from burnt orange to brown.
The wax is soft, sticky, and can be easily warmed, making it simple to blend with a carrier oil to create your own exquisite pomade. Additionally, you can combine it with other floral waxes, such as rose, to make a delightful solid perfume.
Common Uses: The chemistry of this raw material is similar to anhydrous lanolin and functions well as an emollient in personal-care applications. This orange concentrate wax contains phytosterols which benefit the skin with natural moisturizing properties making this wax popular in skincare creams, lotions, and topical treatments. Other cosmetic products containing orange wax range from makeup, lip balms and chap sticks, and sunscreen.
During the process of creating concentrated absolute oil, the natural soft honey-like wax is from the Orange Peels is left behind. I find when making a Rose and Orange solid perfume, I have to add a tiny bit more beeswax to get the right texture for a solid perfume. This concentrate tends to be very soft waxy, and a bit sticky which can sometimes take time to work with, but the effort can be so rewarding.
