Also known as cannabis essential oil, it is produced by very low-pressure steam distillation of the cannabis flower and leaves (and contains no THC or CBD).
Its active components are myrcene and beta-caryophyllene, which are packed with anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and swelling. Cannabinoids are not soluble in water, so essential hemp oil contains only tiny traces of CBDs and has zero THC. Gen 1:12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
The Hebrew words “kaneh”, “kaneh ha-tov” and “kaneh-bosem” (all of which appear in the Hebrew Bible), were most likely wrongfully translated by the Greeks in the third century B.C., in the oldest translation of the Hebrew Bible called Septuagint.
According to some Bible Scholars, these words should have been translated to either cannabis or hemp, instead of “sweet calamus” and “sweet cane”. All subsequent translations of the Bible relied on the Septuagint, and therefore the incorrect translation endured to this day.
The Holy Temple anointing oil was used to anoint both the Holy Temple and the Priests and scholars insist this oil it contained cannabis hemp. But take note of which type of Hemp Cannabis was used.
Exodus 30 23-25 says :“Then G-d said to Moses, ‘Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant calamus (cannabis), 500 shekels of cassia – all according to the sanctuary shekel – and a hin of olive oil. Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil.’”
Here are the ancient measurements converted: Liquid myrrh 500 shekels – 5.75 kg (12.68 lbs), Cassia 500 shekels – 5.75 kg (12.68 lbs), Cinnamon leaf 250 shekels – 2.87 kg (6.34 lbs), Cannabis 250 shekels – 2.87 kg (6.34 lbs), Olive oil 1 hin – 6.5 liters (1.72 gallons)
If these were in fact real cannabis flowers used for the preparation of this oil, then this mixture would be highly psychoactive, if we consider the amount of cannabis and the amount of olive oil used in the process. So it makes sense what some scholars say it was Hemp Cannabis without THC but was the plant with a very high CBD content.
Why? Because these ceremonies would include pouring the sacred oil on both the Priests and the Holy Temple, which would undoubtedly create powerful mind-altering effects if it was Hemp with high THC flowers used instead of Hemp cannabis with high CBD only so it would have been hard for the Priests to do their duties and keep concentration if their minds were altered. So it was CBD Hemp used to keep the Priest holy but also healthy and the Temple holy and purified from illness.
There is not a single suggestion in the Bible/Torah that cannabis was consumed through the means of combustion (smoking). The Biblical texts suggest it was mainly used for the creation of oil for anointing, which is definitely a healthier way to get healthy natural cannabinoids into your system.
