The root of the Galbanum plant is cut in the fall, and for several weeks, the oozing resin is scraped off the plant in a semi-liquid form, then dried until the artisan extraction process to get the pure essential oil.
This listing’s oil is CO2 extracted, then the oil is distilled at low temperature to smooth the harsh edges leaving the green, deep pungent notes that we all love from Galbanum. This species is grown from seed in Israel and harvests the resin that is already Holy Land Charged like our Frankincense and Myrrh resins.
Galbanum has a vibrant green, fresh leafy aroma with a dry, woody back-note that has a balsamic, bark-like character. It is known for its anti-spasmodic properties and is considered a middle ground between Ammoniac and Asafoetida for relieving respiratory passages.
Galbanum is particularly beneficial for certain types of hysteria and can be applied externally as a poultice for inflammatory swellings. Ancient Israelites and various other civilizations used galbanum as incense and during prayer to enhance concentration. This oil is also found in the Ketoret, the Holy Temple blend. In ancient Egypt, galbanum was used alongside frankincense and myrrh in baths, as well as in the creation of perfume oils and cosmetics.
This blend is perfect for use in a diffuser with Cassia, Frankincense, and Myrrh. It eliminates negative energy, thoughts, and feelings, while enhancing the effects of other Bible-oriented botanicals. It also helps individuals separate and sort through unfavourable feelings and behaviours, ultimately allowing for a deeper connection to our Divine Holy God.
