It is a small plant with oil coming from the resin in the stems and roots and is the Persian (Iran) species grown in Israel from seed. Galbanum from Iran is the best in the world and very hard to find. erula galbaniflua.
The root of the Galbanum plant is cut in the fall and for several weeks, the oozing resin is scraped off the plant in a semi-liquid form, is dried and placed in clay containers until extraction process of the Absolute Oil by vaccum crucible. Thick resinous sticky viscous pourable essential oil. It will pour through a euro-dropper top slowly so be patient. One drop really goes a long way.

Galbanum has a intensely green, fresh leafy aroma with a dry woody back-note of balsamic, bark-like character. It is said to have an anti-spasmodic property and is considered an intermediate between Ammoniac and Asafoetida for relieving air passages.
It is especially good for some forms of hysteria and can be used externally as a poultice for inflammatory swellings. Galbanum was used by ancient Israelites and other civilizations as incense and during prayer for concentration. You will find this oil in Ketoret Holy Temple blend. In Egypt, Galbanum was used along with Frankincense and Myrrh in baths, and in making perfume oils and cosmetics.
