Frankincense Boswella Rivae has been used traditionally for thousands of years as an incense to cleanse the home, sanctify The Holy Temple and the sacred spaces. This Frankincense Tree grew in Israel and parts of the Middle East. Both the essential oil and oleoresin of Frankincense Rivae are ingredients in traditional Bakhoor incense mixes across the region of Ethiopia. Scholars believe that this Frankincense was introduced to Queen Sheeba by Israel’s King Solomon.
It is believed by many Bible Scholars that this may be the rare frankincense trees that grew in Israel and now is being revived by KIBBUTZ KETURA, ISRAEL – Seven years after her success in sprouting a 2,000 year-old date palm seed found on Masada, botanist Dr Elaine Solowey of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies has done it again.
One of the most important ancient production facilities of this oil was found east of Bethlehem at the oasis of Ein Gedi on the shore of the Dead Sea. The Song of Songs mentions the fragrance of the perfumed trees growing at Ein Gedi, which was known as “Arugot Habosem”.
