This one comes from an Artisan Distiller in Australia. This essential oil is high in eucalyptol, which has a calming and invigorating scent when diffused. This polybractea species is considered to be pharmaceutical grade due to its high content of cineole (89%) and is commonly used in mouthwashes, cough syrups, and throat lozenges and sprays.
Known for its anti-bacterial ability. Use in massage for the relief of tired muscles. Blue Mallee occurs in 2 distinct areas. One is near Bendigo in Victoria. The other consists of extensive stands around the West Wyalong region, west of Sydney. The area is a semi-arid Mallee and woodland country.
Mallee trees have a massive and extensive root ball system that lies just under the surface of the soil. This acts as a defensive system for fire and as a reservoir for moisture and nutrients. This is essential for the tree in what is a very low nutrient soil system. Blue Mallee trees are typically shorter trees and grow to around 8 ft.
It is interesting to note in Israel, this oil is coveted and treasured and used quite often by many Aromatherapists and Herbalists alike because of its complex aroma and varied uses.
