Note of caution:
Methyl salicylate is a chemical cousin of aspirin in wintergreen essential oil. Thus, both belong to a category of anti-inflammatory analgesics known as “salicylates.” So it is NOT safe to consume methyl salicylate orally in such concentrated form such as essential oil and so because it is more toxic than aspirin it is not recommended as oral use. Keep away from children and never use them on children or while pregnant.
