Aroma: Green Sweet grapes, dry, tart, wine-like aroma, with intense notes of green apple; high tenacity. It brings to mind the aroma of Rashi’s Vinyard Wine “Joyvin” to a high-end Cognac liquor like Courvoisier.
Green Cognac essential oil will not reveal its aroma right away until your nose sniffs the bottle where notes of dry wine and sweet crispy apples hit almost to the back of the throat. Then suddenly a punch of Cognac comes to the surface almost immediately after the initial green notes of dry wine. Would recommend trying a small drop of the oil on a test strip to really experience the full depth of its complex aroma.
So in line with the tradition of winemaking, we like the distillation process of this one because it was in a copper still to produce its gorgeous green color. Steam distilled from the wine lees, left at the bottom of the wine barrels after aging. Contains oil from the spent yeast, and fermented grape skin and juice.
Distillation in copper stills is traditional use which has almost disappeared with the advent of stainless steel. In a copper still, the gem-like, emerald green color of Green Cognac essential oil comes from natural oxidation that only occurs when the oil comes in contact with the copper walls of the still.
The color sets this oil apart from the French and Hungarian-produced Cognac essential oils on the market. Many that are on the market are a pale yellow-green whereas this one is green to dark emerald green in color. Fresh lees have been shown to increase important generic esters and reduce unwanted aldehydes according to some experts in the distillation of material.
There have been some observations and anecdotal information in aromatic and holistic medicine for a wide range of possible benefits, including lowering blood sugar, lowering non-beneficial cholesterol levels, and increasing digestive strength. It has even been cited for anti-cancer effects, antibiotic-like effects, and positive effects on the heart and circulatory system. Cognac is an aromatherapy favorite for its uplifting, relaxing, and comforting benefits.
Carefully add this one to a blend drop by drop to achieve the aroma you desire. Too much can almost ruin a blend. This essential oil Blends well with Jasmine Absolute, Lavender, Geranium, and Sandalwood. Recommend using in high-end perfume blends.
