Cape Snowbush is a small evergreen shrub with dark green needle-like leaves native to the western cape of Africa. Although it is often called African rosemary, it is not related to the common Mediterranean type of Rosemary. It grows mainly in the Namaqualand, Western, and Eastern Cape.
In spring the plant has multi-branched shrub has clusters of small hairy silver leaves and dense white flowers and fluffy white seed tufts, hence making it appear as though it is covered in snow hence its namesake.
Use often in aromatherapy remedies, hair care, and skincare products. Today is highly sought after in the natural perfume world. In raw plant form is used in food as a flavoring for legumes, rice, and fish.
