There is no such system for essential oils. There is no standards or committees to set such standards. There are no independent certifying agencies. You will see some companies have actually trademarked their terms, “therapeutic grade” or “medicinal grade”. This is marketing ploy on their part, a way of differentiating themselves from the competition and making people feel like the oils they are getting are of the highest quality while others meet lower standards. This is simply not true and fact is there are great companies out there that have high quality and higher than these companies claim they have the best because they are so called “therapeutic grade”. But again there are no such standards. There are no grades for essential oils.
While our oils are used by us and majority of customers for therapies, medicines, and for aromatherapy, we do not call them “therapeutic grade”, or “medicinal grade”, or “aromatherapy grade” or any other grade because there is no such thing, except in marketing. Fact is all from a Certified Clinical Aroma-therapist standpoint all good high quality essential oils are therapeutic and beneficial.
