Aroma: This oil has a rich, sweet-herbal scent, complemented by floral notes of black currant and a woody-leafy aroma characteristic of acacia flowers. Black Locust Acacia oil is extracted from the flowers of the plant. It ranges in color from light yellow, pale yellow-green to a deeper bright green and may occasionally have a slightly cloudy, waxy consistency, resulting in an almost pomade effect at cooler temperatures. Gently warm the oil to clear it.

Black Locust Flower Oil (Robinia pseudoacacia) has a light blackcurrant aroma. This small-batch artisan extraction is ideal for making perfumes, artisan soaps, serums, and incense. Commonly referred to as “Locust Acacia,” this oil is derived from a woody and floral species in the legume family. It is known for its expectorant and soothing effects, featuring strong, sweet, and powdery notes that are both tenacious and distinctive.

The chemical composition of locust acacia flowers includes essential oils and glycosides; the wood and bark of young trees contain tannin, which is also found in the stems of the plant,  stigmasterol, phytosterol, and the leafy part contains glycosides and flavonoids. Also, various parts of this medicinal parts of the tree contains pectin also.

White acacia, often called a female tree, is believed to enhance well-being and boost immunity. It is thought to impart energy and courage to women. This wonderful oil can really boost the body and texture of your creations whenever you need it! It’s a popular choice in perfumery, cosmetics, aromatherapy, and even medicine, and it can help calm stress too! Specifically, Locust Acacia is a fantastic ingredient for making solid perfumes, light perfume when blended with a citrus, soaps, creams, lotions,  balms, salves, and delightful when blended with other floral essential oils. Formulators and perfumers absolutely love this one.

This enfleurage was extracted using the ancient enfleurage maceration technique. This method captures the delicate and elusive aroma of rare and exotic flowers which do not respond well to solvent extraction. These flowers either produce very little essential oil or risk having their fragile floral aroma destroyed during the whole extraction process.

In this ancient technique, the blooms are pressed and infused into a fatty carrier oil, such as coconut oil, shea butter, mango butter, or babassu oil. We do not use any perfumer’s alcohol to separate the oil; instead, we use a slow and extremely low warming process that allows the oil to move more freely, to help separate the higher fat molecules of the fatty oils and let the smaller whole molecules rise to the top. The result is a high-quality infused oil. This is what we call the “cream of the crop enfleurage oil”, which is simply gorgeous!

Caution: Use only small amounts, as some people may be very sensitive to acacia flowers. Keep away from children and pets.
