Real Genuine Cedarwood (Cedrus libani) and Jerusalem Olive Oil Soap: 3.4 oz Bar Made in Israel with Holy Land Ingredients

A fully grown Lebanon Cedarwood tree growing in Israel is a magnificent thing to see in person. It has a dark trunk and green foliage stretches upward in a triangle to a pointy peak. At the same time, it stretches outward, in great arms of branches.

A very slow-growing tree, it can reach enormous heights and breadth. Having seen some in the wild, you can easily appreciate why this great cedar tree is such a beloved wood that was used to create the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The Cedrus libani species is the strong, fragrant wood used to build David’s house, Solomon’s house, and much of the First Temple. It was also used along with hyssop, mentioned in the Bible. It speaks of strength, permanence, wholeness, and restoration.

Bible Texts:
Ps 92:12 “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a Cedar in Lebanon.”

Hosea 14:6-7
“Its branches will spread out like beautiful olive trees,
as fragrant as the cedars of Lebanon.
My people will again live under my shade.
They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines.
They will be as fragrant as the wines of Lebanon.”

So each year, we gather as much fallen plant material as we can from the trees around Israel and its borders to get enough to create essential oil, soaps, and maceration oil, as well as distilling for hydrosol water.

We do get special permission to take only what is on the ground since the trees are protected in Israel, and we even pay to come to do the clean-up if we have to, just to obtain the materials we need to create this small amount of oil exclusively from Israel, the Holy Land. We also purchase any clippings and any pruning done to the trees by caretakers. This is a costly process and expense for us to obtain this oil, but oh so worth it.

The smell is sweet, fresh, woodsy, light spice citrus top note, piney cedar, camphorous, very slight menthol wood middle note, with a creamy, full-bodied sweet amber, sweet woodsy overtones bottom note. It is like smelling a forest fresh in the bottle. A very distinct aroma.

So, whatever falls off the tree and onto the ground, we would harvest buds, leaves/needles, wood chips, bark, and tree limbs, bud needles, cones, and of course, if any resin drips that harden and fall to the ground. This process is sustainable, and no tree is ever harmed.
