Holy Land Mix Botanical Incense
3oz Tin (Filled to the Brim)
From Israel
Great for burning just before Shabbat or Holidays begin to bring in a little piece of the Holy Land. A 3-oz tin filled to the brim with botanicals, resins, flowers, woods, and leaves that we had left over from products. We would walk around in the shop saying Ooh, that smells good, let’s keep collecting all our remnant botanicals and keep adding to the mix instead of returning it all to nature.
Instead of throwing it all away, we collected it all a little at a time until we were overflowing with so much remnant material it became a beautiful potpourri of incense. We could not believe the amazing, beautiful aroma. Just saving little pieces of resins, powders from resin sediments, a few leftover pieces of herbs from the shuks, wood, flowers, leaves, and more that we created something just beautiful.
Ingredients are various mints, tree resins of frankincense, myrrh, onycha benzoin, various roses, cistus, various lavenders, balm of gilead leaves, cinnamon, cedar of lebanon leaves, branches and bud pieces, dried Jaffa orange peels, roses, sage, zuta lavana, inula flowers and leaves, bud leaves of herbs and trees, dried fruit peels, jasmine, gardenia, pomegranate flowers, kumquat flowers, lotus powder, rose powder, etrog flowers, lavender nard flowers, blue and pink lotus petals, Egyptian oud powder, etc. We even added some dried leaves and flowers from friends’ gardens. There is so much that we cannot name all the ingredients. We find burning just tiny amounts is relaxing, and the home will smell oh so good.
We realized we had gathered botanicals not only native to Israel but also from around the world that were grown in Israel. Much like gathering all of G-d’s children. This is why we call this incense blend “The Holy Land Mix.” You can even share with friends by placing some in a little bottle to smell for Havdalla.
1 Chronicles 16:35
Then say, “Save us, O G-d of our salvation,
And gather us and deliver us from the nations,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
And glory in Your praise.”
