Known as Nyctanthes sambac. Jasminum sambac and other species of the genus spread into the Middle East, Persia, and then Europe in the eighteenth century. Other commercially important species grown for the perfumer industry are Jasminum officinalis, Jasminum grandiflorum, and Jasminum auriculatum.
Aroma is very intoxicating, sweet, floral-muskybase note, mysterious, and down right beautiful and very elegant. Jasmine sambac is the night-blooming variety of this delicate flower, possessing the seductive, musky-yet-sweet aroma of a flower blooming is harvested and created in the dark of the night. A rare, gogeous, and unrivaled aroma.
During the Process of creating an absolutes oil of these delicate flowers the natural solid wax from the plant is left behind. This is called floral wax. It retains a milder aroma than is found in the absolute, but its creamy texture makes it a desirable ingredient, a absolute must have no pun intended.
