Pale yellow to pale gold amber, and is a slightly viscous, syrup-like liquid
In ancient times, in Jewish Homes, it was not uncommon to find inlaid woodwork of the common sycamore tree, sometimes of olive wood or cedar wood, and in the palaces of the Hebrew Kings, with Indian sandalwood.
A great perfumist knows that the older the distillation of Sandalwood, the more it ages, the more valuable and more coveted this oil becomes. This one was distilled in 2021 and is fast approaching to 5-years in age and is selling very fast with collectors. This oil has a buttery soft aroma of wood spice that warms the soul to remember ancient times and markets of incense and attars.
Traditionally used for toothaches, indigestion, cough, asthma, headache, stress, blood impurities, and perfume compositions. I own a bottle of 53 and a 65-year-old Sandalwood essential oil in my own personal collection, and it is so divine in aroma and very syrupy, buttery, and golden in color. I have to say this one is certainly getting more and more beautiful.

Bible Texts:
Known in the Bible as Almug Wood. The Almuggim trees that grew in the region Almog in Israel and in Lebanon see Numbers 24:6, Psalms 45:8, Proverbs 7:17, Song of Songs 4:14
1 Kings 10:12
And the king made of the almug-trees pillars for the house of Adonai, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for the singers: there came no such almug-trees, nor were seen, unto this day.
2 Chronicles 2:8
Send me also cedar-trees, fir-trees, and algum-trees, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants know how to cut timber in Lebanon: and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants.
2 Chronicles 9:10
And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, that brought gold from Ophir, brought algum-trees and precious stones.
2 Chronicles 9:11
And the king made of the algum-trees terraces for the house of Adonai, and for the king’s house, and harps and psalteries for the singers: and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.
Almugwood, as used in 1 Kings, is thought to be red sandalwood:
“And she gave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. (Hiram’s ships brought gold from Ophir; and from there they brought great cargoes of almugwood and precious stones. The king used the almugwood to make supports for the temple of the Lord and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. So much almugwood has never been imported or seen since that day.)”
— 1 Kings 10:10-12
