Green Tea Wax is soft, creamy wax with an effortless med-low melting point. Its name is a bit of a misnomer in that it functions less like a wax in formulations and more like an emollient. The wax is oil and alcohol soluable.
Green Tea Wax is composed primarily of esters, fatty acids, and fatty alcohols. This moderately soft wax derived from Green Tea has a characteristic natural tea scent perfect for applications including creams, lotions, and solid perfumes.
Green Tea Wax is excellent for reducing transepidermal water loss on skin. In creating formulas, it has good for oil-binding capacity and adds the perfect creaminess at less than 2% use in most perfume accords. The tiniest amount simply goes a long way with this one.
We adore the aromatherapy benefits the wax offers, as well as the rich color it imparts in balms and other wax combinations. Great for incense formulations for a strong color of amber to a yellow green, with soft tea aroma notes, depending on the material, the color can vary.
When green tea leaves undergo the extraction process, the caffeine is removed from the leaves, and the crude wax protecting the leaves is simultaneously removed and collected.
