Our Gardenia Floral Wax is a solid wax, extremely aromatic plant wax which is obtained during the production of Gardenia floral concretes and absolutes oil. Our Gardenia Floral Wax is firm at normal room temperature, and it easily melts when heated. Floral Waxes can vary slightly in firmness, but they tend to be somewhat similar in consistency to that of a firm butter much like shea butter or a vegetable butter.
It is golden yellow to brown in color. Floral waxes are comprised of the natural wax and precious aromatic components which are present within fragrant flower blossoms and petals. No additional waxes or fragrances are added. The Flower Plant of Gardenia naturally produce wax as a means to waterproof and protect the outer layers of the flowers, leaves and other aerial parts of the plants.
This is the left-over wax product from the process of manufacturing a floral absolute oil. The floral wax is separated from the concrete, resulting in a highly aromatic, semi-soft solid to firm floral wax and is well suited for use in the fine exquisite solid perfumes, balms, creams, lotions, soaps, incense, and personal care applications.
Instinctively we all know this gorgeous flower belongs in fat, a jar of sugar cane alcohol, or in the belly of a still to capture the sweet creamy floral vanilla buttery essence before the petals fade away so quickly when left on the bush too long where the flower will hide.
Gardenia is a genus-species of the coffee family and much like coffee’s strong aroma when gardenia flowers are picked the aroma is at its strongest and begs to be captured before it fades completely away. The sweet, heady scent of Gardenia flowers is often hidden behind very shiny waxy leaves. The scent is carried on a warm summer breeze and is one of the most delightful experiences of the early summer season (June).
If you have lovely Gardenia grandiflora or jasmondies flowers growing in Mid-April to early July then take freshly plucked flowers and press your nose and apply this oil to your skin and sniff both, you will find it exactly the same gorgeous powdery sweet, and creamy gardenia but this oil is a bit stronger because we charged the batch with fresh flowers often until we achieve the glorious aroma in strength and majesty of Gardenia.
The aroma of the oil and wax is strong and beautiful on the skin which will fade to soft powdery notes very quickly and linger softly like a kiss. So, when Gardenia lingers on the skin and only then is when the magic really begins when her aroma transforms your surroundings and environment around you mixed with your chemistry which is why Gardenia is beloved as the flower of romance and worn in many cultures during life-changing events.
