Cistus is considered are rare. The “rose of Sharon” is probably the cistus or rock-rose. Mount Carmel abounds in the cistus. Rose of Sharon (Cistus Ladanifer), commonly known as the “rock rose” grew in biblical times in the valley of Sharon in Israel. Its leaves and stems are sticky, eluding a gum which was collected by the Shepherds from the hair of goats that had gotten entangled in the bushes. Want the Cistus Resin Botanical wax see it here.

However, this listing is NOT the black resin from the plant. The plant does produce a sticky, stretchy black resin, also known as labdanum, which was used in ancient middle eastern world for its healing properties too. This Floral Wax product is made from the flower tops only that were processed as an absolute oil and leaves the wax part of the process.

Cistus Cistus ladaniferus, also known as rockrose, is a beautiful and powerful plant with a rich history of medicinal and therapeutic use. Cistus ladanifer is native to the Mediterranean region, particularly Spain and Portugal. It is also native to Israel, Syria, Lebanon as well as Egypt.

Floral and other botanical waxes are easy and very forgiving to use as well as very cost effective in the exploration stage of production and waxes can add body and even texture to a composition or formula where needed.

Floral waxes can be incorporated into creams, lotions, balms, and solid perfumes. The floral wax is a by product of Absolute or CO2 process and the aroma is not as strong as the oil produced. Floral waxes aroma bloom even more when warmed. While floral waxes tend to be quite hard and may take longer to melt, the effort invested can be very rewarding.
