It is a unique essential oil that is different from Bergamot and Peppermint even though its aroma smells of a combination of fresh mint and soft citrus. It has the uplifting energy of peppermint with the emotionally balancing presence of bergamot. High Linalool compound is one of the main contituents found in bergamot mint which also give it a soft lavender-like aroma too.
Bergamot Mint has a similar chemical makeup to lavender. You can substitute one for the other, they also blend well together in DIY recipes. Like lavender, Bergamot Mint essential oil contains besides linalool is linalyl acetate which are well known for calming the mind and body. Its unique aroma is ideal for aromatic and topical essential oil blends.
Bergamot Mint herb is native to the Mediterranean region but have been nativized first throughout Europe and then the world. Bergamot Mint essential oil is sometimes called orange mint. It is ideal for diffusion and inhalation due to its invigorating and soothing fragrance. While the smell of bergamot mint oil is lovely all by itself, it blends well with citrus oils, as well as floral oils.
