The bald cypress is a large deciduous conifer that sheds it needles in the late autumn (hence, the name ‘bald cypress’). The feathery, delicate needles and beautiful bark and cones make it a wonderful addition to any landscape design in any season.
Bald Cypress essential oil ranges in color from light yellow to medium yellow to soft yellow-greenish hues. It has a delightful, fresh, surprisingly sweet, balsamic, and fruity aroma, complemented by resinous, coniferous, herbaceous, and subtle aquatic undertones.
Softer and more grounding than many traditional Cypress oils, Bald Cypress offers a beautifully balanced aromatic profile that is fresh yet comforting, making it an intriguing choice for natural perfumery and aromatic blends.
The sweet fruity/coniferous note has good tenacity. This lovely oil is distilled from on land Bald Cypress tree. We will not distilled from a tree in water. The cones and needles lose their beautiful aroma if it is growing in water specifically swamp land.
Bald Cypress releases the emotions of anger. It releases irritable moods on a mental and physical level. It has a cooling effect on emotions because it physically releases irritation. Native American uses the thin strips of bark was used to cordage by the Choctaw Tribe. Often used to weave baskets and make jewelry. In-fact, the Seminole Indians used the wood of this tree to carve out their canoes. Charlie Cypress, born in 1869, was famous for his canoes crafted of this cypress.
