EXTREMELY RARE

Want to elevate your blend this is a rare piece of history and a must have. This vintage, edgy, sweet apricot/fig/dried fruit notes with hints of cognac-like notes, soft leather, dried fruit, with deep spike-like lavender notes in the long dry down. And is very tenacious indeed. Rich amber red in color that will stain your clothes, much like a Rose Absolute oil will do, so be careful.

Lavandula stoechas subsp. Luisieri is an evergreen shrubby Iberian perennial that has been grown commercially for various uses, including aromatherapy. It is prevalent in the southwest corner of Spain and is widely grown in Portugal and is native to the Holy Land of Israel, Egypt, and the Middle East in general. It is called a Poke Lavender, Judean Spike Lavender, or Lavendula Stoechas subspecies and nicknamed Angel Lavender.

Two chemotypes of L. stoechas subsp. luisieri occur, with an unidentified ester as their main component. The analysis shows there is no camphor or fenchone found in the more common L. stoechas varieties, but it does contain a small amount in this stoechas variety and has a small amount of verbenone, accounting for a distinct ketonic note. There is also limonene (lemon scent), cubebol (a cooling constituent with insect-repellant properties), irregular esters, and other compounds unique to L. luisieri.

This one was inherited along with several Vintage Sandalwood oils and other gorgeous oils. From the early 1930s to 1960, it was often used in culinary desserts and used as flavring but also to be coveted by perfumers and for medicinal use but because this is vintage we do not recommend for consumption.
