Lily cannot be extracted through Traditional Means of Steam distillation only for hydrosol not essential oil so it is an essential oil that is extracted by enfleurage method and is most rare, coming from small growers/extractors in Israel. Sweet spice aroma deep honey notes, with pink lotus-like earthy green notes. This Lily Oil is an absolute, it is an essential oil that is enfleurage method and is most rare, coming from small growers/extractors. The entire process of extracting the Lily oil is done by hand and no hexane extraction.
Instead, we use sugar cane ethanol is used to absorb the aromatic oils from the Lily flower petals which are done over a very long period of time and once the ethanol is completely saturated with the essence of the Lily flower then the oil is separated from the Lily plant material which is then evaporated in vacuum crucible to leave the beautiful Lily oil. The aroma is quite strong, and so dilution is recommended before application or blending. The oil color is amber orange-yellow red. Just gorgeous!
Either method (enfleurage or natural solvent extraction) is time-consuming and costly because the oil yields are quite small for the number of materials used. Now, the most commonly found Lily used by the perfume industry is entirely synthetic and has no healing properties whatsoever.
