Emmenagogue, antispasmodic, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and sudorific.
Usage & methods of application:
When blended with a base oil, cream or lotion Calendula is often found in preparations for dry, dehydrated, irritated and rough skin as well as in cases of broken capillaries. It’s often used as an ingredient in general healing blends as well as blends targeted at healing wounds, eczema and to fight signs of ageing. Calendula in cream is often used to relieve sore and cracked nipples in breastfeeding women and when blended in a lotion it can be used as a soothing and protecting massage for babies and infants.
Additionally it’s used in treatments for acne and the anti-microbial and anti-oxidising properties make it popular in blends to fight infection while a drop of the oil in a bath is sometimes recommended for psoriasis.

Calendula blends especially well with lavender, frankincense, cypress and bergamot.
