Description
Black Tea Natural CO2 Extracted Essential Oil
Dilution with Jojoba Oil
Species: Camellia Sinensis
Part: Leaves
Method: CO2 Extraction
A unique niche ingredient from France
This liquid material is CO2 extracted to capture all the constituents of the whole leaf. It is very thick and difficult to work with in its initial form, arriving from France as a more solid green-yellow mass. This makes it nearly impossible to handle without some processing. It took us several hours to dilute the material and make it suitable for use in essential oil and natural perfumery.
Once diluted, the material retains a semi-thick, slightly waxy texture and will leave stains, but it becomes much easier to work with. The oil may appear cloudy in cooler temperatures because of its waxy nature, but when warmed, it clears beautifully as in our pictures.
To warm the oil, place the closed bottle in a warm water bath. Make sure the water does not overflow onto the cap. Allow it to sit until the bottle is warm, and repeat the process if necessary. Then blend with your favorite oil for unique aroma and it will keep its clarity.
Aroma description (per artisan producer): A leathery, arnica, hay-like, soft roasted bran-like note, and herbal aroma with a strong fixative, followed by a clean castoreum black tea dry-down. Please note that the oil may stain clothing green, yellow, or orange due to its black tea leaf origin, so exercise caution.
