Honey has been known to have medicinal properties which can help with sore throats, burn treatment, and even memory loss. It is even referenced in the Bible numerous verses. One that really stands out is the reference to the Holy Land.
Honey represent G-d’s Promised Holy Land and Promise of Abundance which was to fulfill G-d’s covenant promise with Avraham Aveinu, which stated, “I will give you and them (Abraham’s descendants) the land in which you are now a foreigner. I will give the whole land of Canaan to your family forever, and I will be their G-d”(Genesis 17:8). Avraham is the Father of the Jewish (Hebrew) people. Abraham was the tenth generation from Noah, being a direct descendant of Shem, (Noah’s son), the father of all the “Semitic” peoples.
Historical Bible Context of the Holy Land and Avraham Aveinu
The Bible is clear that the Promised Land was given as an everlasting possession to the Jewish People; there would be no end to Israel’s lawful claim to it. Also, there are no conditional clauses in this promise indicating the fulfillment of the promise was not dependent on the action of Abraham or his offspring given by G-d. Ishmael was born of Hagar to force Avraham to have a decendant so Sarah was not patient enough to wait upon G-d to give a son. This is where the problems we see today really began. Sometime when we try to get ahead of G-d’s plans we end up tripping ourselves in the process.
But as you know eventually G-d gives Avraham and Sarah a son Isaac and in Genesis 17:18 Avraham pleaded with God to make Ishmael the recipient of the covenant. Does this sound familiar today? Israel’s goverment keeps offering parts of the Land to appease Islam but it always gets rejected because of greed and hatred they have here is why it will always fall through and why it is G-d’s will that it always will never be divided.
We see in the Bible G-d not only denied Avraham’s request, but He specifically identified Isaac as the line through which the promise would come (Gen. 17:19). Yes, G-d Almighty would bless Ishmael too (Gen. 17:20). G-d says “But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.” (Gen. 17:21). These verses are very clear! So no matter what even the so called two state solution is never going to work!
It is true, through Moses, G-d warned the children of Israel of the consequences of disobedience to Him (that is, expulsion from the land, Dt. 28:63), but dwelling in your home and losing the title deed to your home are two separate matters alltogether. In addition, the Word of G-d is so very, very clear that despite two expulsions, there would be two restorations to the land ( Isa. 11:11; Ezek. 37:1–14), not just one, as Islam would claim today.
Not one verse in all of Scriptural Tanach/Bible declares G-d has revoked His promise He gave to Abraham in Genesis 17:8. In fact, the opposite is true. Over 130 versess in theTanach/ Bible reiterate the truth the Land of Israel has been divinely given to the Jewish people only ( Ps. 105:8–11; Acts 7:5) known as the “Land of Milk and Honey.” Exodus 3:8
