Medium to semi-thick viscous oil. Known as Scarlet Fruit and Marita fruit. The aroma of this lovely oil is a strong earthy, slightly sweet, and complex aroma. Very deep crimson red/amber in color. Typically, the fruit changes from pale red to red brick color as it matures. This one can also be used as a carrier for much like Sea Buckthorn CO2 essential oil. You may add a little color to your lotions and creams as well as adding an earthy floral fruit aroma, great additiona for a perfumers accord because of its lovely color and aroma.
Looks very much like scarlet tree resin in color ( known as a dragon’s blood) which is a deep bloody red in color. This can stain clothing so be careful using it. Leaves skin slightly oil and shiny but moisturized from dehydrated dry skin.
Often times this oil is used in small amounts (2-10%) in creams, lotions, and oils. Buah Merah oil is a fantastic ingredient in massage blends, aromatherapy creams, facial serums, and high-end facial products.
