This is one of my many favorite tea blendsFig Leaf -Ficus carica has so many benefits. Ofen it is used for diabetes, stress, rich in antimicrobial properties. For pain and swelling, it has an anti-inflammatory action to bring down trauma and clear skin issues, and more. Figs in the Torah were often used in Culinary dishes but the leaf was used for medicinal purposes. For example, the leaves can be made into a paste and placed onto a small wound or anywhere there is swelling and pain. Figs are one of the seven species of Israel that we all love to eat and enjoy during holidays and year-round.
Rose- Rosa centifolia is wonderful to help slow bleeding, is antibacterial, has antioxidants, moisturis=zing, helps with digestion, clears skin, and is an excellent stress reducer. Figs and roses can be found in many texts of Tanach/ Bible. ”As a rose among the thorns, so is my beloved amongst the daughters’. (Songs 2:2) Who is the rose? This refers to ‘Knesset Yisrael’ – the Collective soul roots of Israel, Malchut. The Zohar states that the rose represents a cup of blessings. I think of this deep teaching often when I am drinking rose tea. It is often provoked by the fragrant aroma.
“G‑d is bringing you into…a land of wheat, barley, grape-vines, figs, and pomegranates; a land of oil-olives and honey.” (Deut. 8:7-8) These are the seven species of Israel to eat them is to have a love for the Land of Israel! When King Shlomo compared Torah to the fig (Proverbs 27:18) he was giving us a clear message that it was very important gaining and retain that Torah knowledge and use it in your day-to-day life. Like really living it and keep growing! Rabbi Chiya bar Abba quoted Rabbi Yochanan (Eiruvin 54a) as to why the comparison was made: “Just as one constantly finds figs when he approaches the tree (since they do not all ripen at the same time, there are always some available for eating- Rashi), so too will one always find a new taste in the Torah he is studying.”What is your favorite tea to drink?
