Carrier Oils

Essential oils are highly concentrated, they may not always safe to be used directly on the skin. In fact is better to use all essential oils in a carrier oil when applying directly to your skin. Essential oils need to be added to carrier oils which are vegetable, nut, or seed oils. Many of these carrier oils have therapeutic properties of their own. However, they aren’t just any vegetable oil you buy in the grocery store. They need to be cold pressed and have only the oil with no additives, preservatives, or other impurities. Cooking oils have usually been prepared with questionable processing.

An important point to remember: if an essential oil used neat (undiluted is too hot for your skin, never use water to dilute it. The water traps them against the skin and they will burn you even more. Instead, use a carrier oil, which buffers the burning effects while still giving you the therapeutic effects you are seeking. Some oils that are considered hot oils are the spices, the mints,, Blue Tansy, Oregano, Cinnamon, Clove and Thyme.

We sell over 60 essential oil blends, a few of which are already mixed with a carrier oil. These are ready to use straight from the bottle. See Mascerated infused Ancient Shemen massage anointing oils too. Theses are perfect and very gentle on the skin.
